You've probably seen Jenny Lewis' amazing video for "Just One Of The Guys" -- a few times. I mean, it features Anne Hathaway, Kristen Stewart, Brie Larson and Lewis herself dressed as mustachioed men in tracksuits. What's not to love?
But did you ever stop to wonder which cross-dressing women of yore inspires the former Rilo Kiley frontwoman? We did. So we asked her. The answer: Barbra Streisand in "Yentl" (of course) and whoever that actress was in "Just One Of The Guys" -- you know, the '80s movie that shares her single's name. (That's actually a coincidence.)
Lewis swung by MTV to celebrate the release of her first album in six years, the Ryan Adams-produced The Voyager, which dropped earlier this week. A poppy -- yet heart-wrenching -- effort, The Voyager spans all stages of womanhood: from being young and innocent (and maybe into threesomes) on "Late Bloomer" to bemoaning one's empty womb on "Just One Of The Guys," produced by Beck. The record also has its own wine, which we suggest sipping while listening to tongue-in-cheek jam "Love U Forever."
Watch Lewis chat more about the music video, her omnipresent tracksuits (which she's been wearing since she was 15!) and making out with David Arquette below:
