The wait is finally over.

After counting down for months, One Direction will kick off the North American leg of their Where We Are Tour on Friday night (August 1) at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada — and MTV News will be there!

The fivesome will be turning up the heat as they spend the next few months Stateside, making this literally the best summer ever.

The #1 Band In The U.S. Is Your Opening Act

The 5SOS boys — Calum, Luke, Ashton and Michael — will resume their position as the opening act on the Where We Are Tour, bringing their #1 debut album to the 5SOS fam and the Directioners. The guys will be taking the stage all but two nights of the tour (Arlington, Texas and St. Louis), but they have good reason: to perform at the 2014 Video Music Awards on August 24, where they are up for award for Artist To Watch.
