On the very same day that Jessie J, Nicki Minaj and Ariana Grande released their "Lady Marmalade"-esque musical menage a trois "Bang Bang," Macy Gray decided to drop an equally commanding track of the exact same name.
Coincidence? Maybe. After all, considering that she's got a Grammy, a couple BRIT Awards and a VMA under her belt, R&B songstress doesn't need to mimic anyone. No to mention her "Bang Bang" is nothing like Jessie J's -- where the latter pulses with "Problem"-like production courtesy of Max Martin, Gray's slithers along, resulting in a more effortless sexiness signature of the raspy-voiced singer.
"Bang Bang" is the lead single off of Gray's October 7 album The Way -- which, now that we're on the topic of coincidences, is the name of Grande's star-making collaboration with Mac Miller. Just sayin'.
