Ariana Grande Is A Selfie Queen For The September Issue of ‘Seventeen’

It’s been a huge couple weeks for Ariana Grande, y’all. Her “Bang Bang” track with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj hit iTunes last night, she stacked up three (!!!) nominations for the 2014 VMAs this August, and today, Seventeen revealed she’s their September cover girl. Whew. You might remember Ariana’s sporty Seventeen cover from last August, but this time around she’s taking over the biggest issue of the year—with some super stylin’ selfies to prove it.

On the cover, she sported a perfect back-to-school pixelated plaid Sass & Bide romper with a metallic Dsquared2 belt, cobalt-blue We Love Colors over-the-knee socks, and Derek Lam 10 Crosby boots. She nailed her beauty game in signature Ariana style with a high ponytail, bright headband, and out-of-this-world manicure.

In the spread, the Instagram queen (she has 13.5 million followers, FYI) shared what happens behind the scenes during her intimate iPhone photo seshes in a Jonathan Simkhai crop top, Matthew Williamson skirt, punky Joomi Lim accessories, and, of course, a Dsquared2 case.

In another shot from the issue, Ariana wore a black-and-white Haute Hippie romper and got very real with Seventeen about her thoughts on Instagram pics: “Everybody makes up these ridiculous captions for their selfies that have nothing to do with the picture, like ‘Layin’ in bed on Saturday.’ It’s like, No, you are not! You just spent an hour getting ready for this picture! We all post a selfie for the same reason—because we feel better about ourselves than usual. So just be like, ‘Hey, I feel good about myself today, so here’s a picture!’”

In our favorite ensemble from the spread, Ariana looked totally school-ready in a Jeremy Scott cropped sweater with a pleated plaid Milly skirt and Moschino French Fry iPhone case. She said, “It’s tough to spend some of the most important years of your life in front of so many strangers who want to pick you apart. Insecurity has been the hardest thing I’ve had to overcome. I think everyone my age struggles with that because everyone strives for approval and wants to feel loved.” Well, rest assured, Ariana. We got nothin’ but love for you. <3
