Since G-Unit reunited in June, the crew has dropped a number of remixes to some of this year's notable hip-hop hits, from "Loyal" to "0-100/The Catch Up." On Monday (July 28), 50 Cent and co. returned once again, but this time with a remix of an R&B favorite from three decades ago.
"Come Up" finds Fif, Lloyd Banks, Young Buck, Tony Yayo and Kidd Kidd dropping verses over the Gap Band's 1982 hit "Outstanding." This is far from the first time that the song has been used in hip-hop, as it's been sampled by everyone from The Notorious B.I.G., to Ice Cube and Ashanti through the years.
The guys seem to be hitting their stride, as another catchy chorus from 50 sandwiches verses from each of the MCs. It's unclear if it will be included on the Unit's upcoming mixtape, which Fif recently told MTV News will drop before their fourth quarter-scheduled album.
Fifty explains what we can expect from the new G-Unit mixtape and album, in the video below.
