To celebrate the American release of their self-titled debut album, 5 Seconds Of Summer paid a visit to SiriusXM Hits 1 on Tuesday. Along with performing some of their own songs, the Australian pop-punk four-piece also whipped out a cover of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream,” with wanton disregard for our emotional well-beings I might add. Like, how am I even gonna, well, even for the rest of the day? How?
Highlights from the video include, um, all three minutes and 43 seconds of it. But narrowing it down, I’m really into the guys’ lyrical edits. Mikey’s “’Cause I can feel your heart racing in my skintight jeans be my tee-blah-blugh-blah-blechhh” really spoke to me, and don’t even get me started on recent birthday boy Luke’s “I think you’re funny when you say the funchline wrong.” Yep, “funchline.”
Watch it, and weep.
Stop right now — they also met Mel B, aka Scary Spice of the Spice Girls!
Oh yeah, and Kate Hudson, too.
This is almost as intense as that time they played “Amnesia” live on MTV.
