Exclusive: Stream The Soundtrack To The Rock’s ‘Hercules’ Now

This soundtrack can really go the distance.

When you’ve got Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, one of the most epic human beings currently alive, playing Hercules, one of the most epic characters ever created, you’ve got to have an appropriately, dare we say, epic score to your movie.

Luckily, that’s what World Soundtrack Award nominee Fernando Velázquez provides with the Sony Classical soundtrack for the upcoming “Hercules.” And lucky for you, MTV News is exclusively premiering the full stream of the soundtrack in advance of its release digitally on July 22, and on CD on August 5.

“I really tried to address the strength and nobility of Hercules in the movie,” Velázquez commented on the score via press release. “The music tries to capture this kindness along with the great strength. It sounds modern and yet it feels classical as it is completely symphonic, even when incorporating electronics and all kind of ‘modern’ drums.”

The soundtrack was recorded with the London Philharmonia Orchestra, and will be released by Sony Masterworks. You’ll be able to purchase the album on Amazon here on July 22. “Hercules” hits theaters on July 25.
