Imagine, for a second, that there was someone inside your mirror. Watching you adjust your eyeliner, watching you practice what you're going to say to him, watching you just look at yourself. Sounds super terrifying right? But leave it to John Legend to make it rather beautiful.
Legend's new video for "You & I" puts the camera behind the mirror as women of all shapes, sizes, ages and nationalities. It's all pretty simple -- they get ready, they cry, they just stare -- but that's what makes it beautiful. And it's a sentiment that's reflected in the song itself, which says that even without all the makeup and high heels, "you're beautiful."
The "All of Me" singer teamed up with #OperationGirl Charity Challenge, which encourages friendly competition among charities focused on women and girls.
"We live in a world where egregious injustices occur regularly against girls and women. We have a responsibility to take action and disrupt the conditions that allow for such tragedies to occur," Legend said in a statement. "Through #OperationGirl we hope to amplify the voices and impact of the many organizations doing great work on behalf of girls and women."
