If there were proper guidelines or rules for feuding, one of them would probably be: Don’t F— with Prince. Lil Mo learned that the hard way during Essence Festival this weekend.
The R&B singer (you might remember her from hits like Ja Rule’s “Put it on Me”) was backstage at the Superdome in New Orleans on Saturday night, and got annoyed that she was being bumped around and “pushed in the stomach” just because Prince was trying to make his way to the stage.
“had VIP passes to meander the whole superdome dude talmbout ’we gotta hold the walk through cuz PRINCE coming through the back,” she wrote in a since deleted Instagram post, adding, “b**** wtf. I don’t want to see him. I had to PEE.”
No big deal, right?
But then she decided to take it a step further, by posting a critical note about Prince’s set, and pointing out that he couldn’t hit his high notes. That didn’t sit so well with his fans, who went crazy with the insults in her comments section.
Prince even shot back with a few tweets, which he eventually deleted, only leaving one behind.
So, what’s the lesson we learned here? Don’t f— with Prince.
When he’s not headlining shows, he’s out here trolling the Internet by writing songs based on memes, so he definitely knows what’s up.
