Get ready, Storybrooke -- Arendelle has officially joined the "Once Upon a Time" party.
Two days after news broke that the show cast Scott Michael Foster and Elizabeth Lail as "Frozen" characters Kristoff and Anna (respectively), TVLine confirmed that ABC's popular fairytale drama had also found its head honcho, Queen Elsa. The coveted role will be played by "Fringe" alum Georgina Haig, who played Peter (Joshua Jackson) and Olivia's (Anna Torv) daughter Etta on the final season of the sci-fi Fox series.
“We are very well aware of how beloved ["Frozen"] is, so we’re very careful that we want to tell a story that is uniquely ours but also honors those characters that everyone fell in love with this past year," "OUaT" creator Adam Horowitz said, with co-creator Eddy Kitsis adding that their Elsa will also be a perceived villain who is "clearly misunderstood."
The "Once" version of Elsa, who was voiced by Idina Menzel in the film, will have already experienced the events we saw in "Frozen" -- basically, she knows that the key to controlling her powers is her love for her sister, Anna. But if we know our "Once" (and we think we do), Elsa's strength will be tested before she even has time to take a deep breath and say "let it go."
A sneak peek at the character served as the cliffhanger for the show's season three finale, but a stand-in actress was used as Haig had not yet been cast:
