Miller, who previously directed "Moneyball" and earned an Oscar nomination for "Capote," won best director at the Cannes Film Festival in May, and many early reviews raved about the performances throughout.
Carell has clearly undergone a serious physical transformation here, but it's the intensity of Tatum's performance that really shines here.
