No Animals Were Harmed Making ‘Transformers: Age Of Extinction,’ Except Two Goldfish

There are so many details of this story that need explaining.

It’s common knowledge among Hollywood insiders that “Transformers: Age of Extinction” star Mark Wahlberg always travels with a Nacho, and sometimes with a Hamster, too – these being the names of some of his childhood friends, who now form a fun-loving entourage that accompany Mark around the world while he promotes his films.

The only problem? “Fun-loving” sometimes means “live fish-swallowing,” as Wahlberg’s co-star Nicola Peltz discovered on the Shanghai leg of their press tour. On Thursday’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Peltz told the story of attending a black tie premiere alongside Mark and his guys, where she returned from the ladies’ room to discover that one of the aquarium centerpieces on their table was empty — of water, but also of the goldfish who’d been swimming in it.

“Nacho ate two fish, and the whole thing of water to get the fish down,” she concluded.

Nacho’s remuneration for this bizarre stunt was a paltry $200 — or $100 per fish — but despite this, the man apparently does have some lines he won’t cross for any amount of money.

“He told me he would not have a milkshake because he was lactose intolerant,” Peltz said.
