Katy Perry's Prismatic Tour Made Us '90s Kids Nostalgic

The first night of her North American tour had us feeling misty-eyed.

RALEIGH, North Carolina -- With her candy boobs and brightly colored wigs, Katy Perry seems like the eternal child -- remember how in "Part Of Me" she said she was 16 at heart? Of course you do. You've only seen it, like, 40 times.

At the kickoff of the North American leg of her Prismatic World Tour on Sunday, however, we were reminded that Perry was born in the '80s, as her seriously Instagram-worthy performance had all of us '90s kids in the house missing our childhoods something fierce.

As the Katy Cats grooved to Perry's two-hour-long, career-spanning performance -- she opened with "Roar" and closed with "Firework" -- those among us who remember that most nostalgic of decades saw our lives (colorfully) flash before our eyes.

Check out the moments that filled us with the most fuzzy-edged wistfulness below... Over the course of the show we missed:

1. Lite-Brite

Lite-Brite! Lite-Brite! Turn on the magic of colored lights! Perry opened the show with an electrifying rendition of "Roar" complete with glowing neon lights reminiscent of this glorious kids' toy. Luckily, no luminescent clown faces were involved.

2. My Little Pony

More like My Giant Pony. Katy trotted out a HUGE pony (pun intended) to help her perform "Dark Horse." I just want to brush its hair with an ineffectual plastic comb, don't you?

3."The Nightmare Before Christmas"

Nothing says "I Kissed A Girl" like a passel of big-bootied, Tim Burton-esque dancing mummies!

4. "Gin And Juice"

Middle school dances just wouldn't be the same without Snoop Dogg's "Gin And Juice" -- and neither would this fun video featuring myriad cats that played during one of Perry's many costume changes.

5. Butterfly Clips

Oh, man, I don't know about you, but I wasn't ready to go out at age 13 until my hair was adorned with at least two pairs of butterfly clips. One might say I loved them... "Unconditionally"...

6. Smiley Face Shirts

If you were alive in the '90s, you likely had at least one piece of clothing with a smiley face on it -- probably not a bra, like Katy's, though. Probably a long sleep shirt or a pair of boxers under overalls or something.

7. Ying-Yangs

Children also really dug ying yangs way back when. Katy had a giant dress in the shape of one in addition to this backdrop. All that was missing was a dolphin.

8. Michael Jackson

Perry has some serious Michael Jackson "Scream" vibes going on in this little video. Anyone else remember when this premiered on MTV?
