Kanye West Treats Dave Chappelle Fans To A Surprise Performance

Yeezus does a solid for an old friend.

Dave Chappelle has lined up a few guest appearances for his remaining shows at Radio City Music Hall, but on Friday night Kanye West went the surprise cameo route.

West showed up, unexpectedly, to deliver three hits. He performed "New Slaves," "Gold Diggers," and "Jesus Walks," even hopping off the stage to rap in the crowd for a bit.

His relationship with the comeback comedian stretches way back.

Earlier this month, during a visit to "The Tonight Show," Chappelle recalled the first time he knew that 'Ye would be a superstar.

The story takes place on the day that Jay Z dropped The Black Album, which was also the same day that Kanye appeared on "Chappelle's Show." Chappelle, Common and Talib Kweli all listened to the record together, and when Kanye heard Hov shout him out on "Lucifer," he immediately commanded that they “Stop the record and rewind that.

Sounds about right.

For his nine-run stint at Radio City, Chappelle also enlisted Nas, Common, The Roots, Erykha Badu and more to join him. Thursday night's show included two opening sets from comedians Tony Woods and Donnell Rawlings, but no musical guests.
