Let’s be real, when you attend a music festival, the venue’s 5-star accommodations probably isn’t the first thing that comes to mind, right? It’s more like port-a-potties, the hard ground you’ll sleep on and the guarantee you’ll be smelling, um, fragrant from the lack of showers. Well, at Firefly Music Festival in Dover, Delaware, you can certainly expect all those things — but with some luxurious upgrades!
Firefly will host musical acts like Outkast, Foo Fighters and Childish Gambino, but it also boasts arguably some of the most well-thought-out accommodations of any fest, luring everyone from the beer drinkers to the gamers to the non-traditional campers.
Here’s a look at some of MTV News’ favorites:
Not in the mood to sleep on the ground all weekend, but still want the camping experience? Then try Glamping. Enhance your experience with hardwood floors, a queen bed (or opt for two twins), air conditioning and monogrammed robe. You’re officially Firefly royalty.
This five-tiered viewing platform overlooks the main stage, where you can watch Outkast, Foo Fighters and Jack Johnson, or take a nap if you want. It has exclusive access to food trucks, including New York’s #1 weiner: Crif Dogs.
Take a break from the heat with an ice cold beer at Firefly’s very own air-conditioned brewery. Not only can you throw back a custom Firefly beer, but for all of you soccer fans, the World Cup will be broadcasting on all of their big screens.
Sometime between seeing your favorite acts, check out the arcade. From pinball to skeeball, the game room offers free admission and plays.
The festival may take place in the sticks, but #TeamFirefly brings a touch of elegance to the party. Lighting their pathways with decorative chandeliers and featuring a different art installation each year.
Meet Me Here
In a sea of nearly 80,000 festival-goers it’s pretty easy to lose your friend and your phone service. So what do you when you walk out of the port-a-potty and can’t find anyone? Thanks to Firefly, you don’t have to waste time roaming the festival grounds to find your peeps, because they made it simple with these ’meet me’ spots. Just pick a number, and your problem’s solved.
Four days at a festival can be exhausting, so when you’re in desperate need of a nap, head on over to the Hammock Hangout. Firefly hosts a plethora of tree-dangling nets for music fans to catch some zzz’s between their favorite sets.
Is your dog a big fan of Outkast? Lucky for them, Firefly is pet-friendly. Here’s Lily and her master taking in one of their favorite acts.
