Chelsea Handler Is Coming To Your Computer With Netflix Show In 2016

Coming soon to a streaming Netflix app near you: Funny lady Chelsea Handler.

Handler, who announced in late March that she would be leaving her E! talk show after eight years, has signed a multi-year deal with the streaming service.

The format of the show, which will premiere in early 2016 according to the announcement, has not yet been set, but will feature guest interviews. Interestingly, the frequency of the show, whether weekly, daily or some other option, has not yet been announced either. The deal also includes four documentary specials and a standup special for Handler on Netflix. The announcement claimed that Handler's new show will "revolutionize" the late-night show format.

In a statement, Handler said she was excited to make the jump to the web.

"If I was going to continue working in this industry, I knew I had to do something outside the box to keep myself interested," she said in the statement. "I wanted to sit with the cool kids at lunch so I approached Netflix to make sure they were as cool as I thought they were, and when I confirmed my suspicions, like with any other future lover, I made my move. I’m more excited than I've been in awhile, and the team at Netflix is the most forward thinking, alert group I've sat down with in ages. No offense to the 'Shahs Of Sunset.'"

There will be an hour-long finale of "Chelsea Lately" on E! on August 26.
