In a few months, FOX will bring viewers to "Gotham," the new TV series inspired by the fictional DC Comics city. It's set well before Bruce Wayne grows up to become the fearsome Caped Crusader, but even without Batman, there are plenty of familiar faces in the mix — especially where the villains are concerned.
The newest look at "Gotham" is all about Batman's developing rogues gallery, including the likes of Jada Pinkett-Smith's mob boss Fish Mooney, a character created specifically for the show; the Penguin, played by Robin Lord Taylor of "Walking Dead" fame, and someone who has already been identified as the best part of the "Gotham" pilot; and young Camren Bicondova as Selina Kyle, the teenage thief who will grow up to become Catwoman.
And that's just a small slice of the sinister players headed to "Gotham." We already know that the Riddler and Poison Ivy are on board for appearances, and there are clues that even the Joker could appear by the end of season one. In other words, what "Gotham" lacks in Batman, it more than makes up for with Batman's worst nightmares.
"Gotham," starring Benjamin McKenzie as Detective James Gordon and Donal Logue as his partner Harvey Bullock, premieres in the fall, with at least 13 episodes in its first season.
