When Ice Cube told MTV News earlier this month that "Straight Outta Compton," the N.W.A biopic, was "in very good shape,” he wasn't lying.

Not only do we now have the names of the actors tapped to play the film's lead characters -- Cube, Dr. Dre, and Eazy-E -- but we've also got a cast photo alongside the musical legends and a release date for the film.

Initial reports suggested that Marcus Callender would star as Dre. However, a press release from Universal confirmed that Corey Hawkins will play the legendary producer. Hawkins has appeared on TV, including on "Royal Pains," as well as in a few movies, including "Iron Man 3."

Cube's son, O’Shea Jackson Jr., will play Cube, while Jason Mitchell, whose movie credits include “Contraband,” “Broken City,” and “Dragon Eyes,” will play Eazy.

The film will be released on August 14, 2015.
