After two long years of delays and fan anticipation, Lucy Hale's debut country album "Road Between" finally hits shelves on June 3. The "Pretty Little Liars" star had been itching to tell her story for years, and she says the 11-track album was the perfect way to do it.
“A lot of people know me as Aria from ‘PLL,’ but a lot of people don’t know Lucy,” Hale explained to MTV News. “They don’t know my story, and the things that I’ve been through, and what I stand for. I think after listening to the album, they’ll get a clear idea of who Lucy Hale is as a human being.”
Well, there's one person who definitely knows what it's like to be a young, up-and-coming country star with high expectations better than anyone — and Carrie Underwood was more than happy to dole out some advice for Hale.
"Just be strong," Underwood told us at the TIME 100 Carpet in New York. "Country music is definitely in need of more really strong females."
After years of battling A, we're pretty sure Hale has what it takes.
