There was a time last summer when we were all waiting for his debut U.S. album. Hell, we talked to him May and he promised he would try and drop it just after he finished a promo run for his "Gangnam Style" follow-up, "Gentleman." Flash forward to this week and after a long time out of the spotlight outside of his native South Korea, Psy is back on his grind.
And this time he has some help from none other than Snoop Dogg. The dynamic duo will unveil Psy's new single, "Hangover," on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Sunday at 7 p.m., directly after game two of the NBA Finals. Both artists will appear on the show to debut a clip from the song's official video; the single will hit iTunes and other digital retailers next Monday. According to Psy's label, "Hangover" is just a teaser for the official lead single from the album, which will hit later this summer.
The full version of the "Hangover" video will be available on Psy's YouTube channel after Sunday's prime-time special episode. Though a spokesperson for the singer could not give additional information on the as-yet-untitled album, a press release from Psy's label promised that "Hangover" has "one of his catchiest hooks to date," and that it's an "ultimate party anthem" that promises to set off the "summer of Psy."
The best they can offer at this point is that the album is due out "later this year."
