See The Banned, NSFW ‘Sin City: A Dame To Kill For’ Poster

Here's the photo behind the 'controversy.'

Last week, a bunch of character posters from “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” debuted, but there was one character curiously absent: Eva Green as the titular dame.

Well today, we have an apparent explanation for the missing poster. According to Page Six, the NSFW poster featuring Green didn’t get MPAA approval “for nudity — curve of under breast and dark nipple/areola circle visible through sheer gown.”

In short, a boob curve is bad, but a gun is perfectly all right.

Like all things, the poster made its way to the internet anyway for everyone to see. Is it that salacious? By internet standards, no, but it’s probably too much for a theater display.

“Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” opens in theaters on August 22.
