Reporting By Josh Horowitz

Now that “X-Men: Days of Future Past” is in theaters, the next mutant adventure we have to look forward to is the sure-to-be-epic “X-Men: Apocalypse.”

If you didn’t understand the post-credits sequence, you might want to read up.

The X-Men will face off against one of their all-time greatest foes in 2016, and from the sounds of how he discussed the movie on the red carpet, James McAvoy is already excited.

“What I think is really epic about ‘Apocalypse’ — bearing in mind I have had no communication with [writer] Simon [Kinberg] about what he’s thinking — is the fact that it seems to be going kind of biblical. It seems to be going back to the origins of the species,” he said.

“X-Men: Apocalypse” opens in theaters on May 27, 2016.
