Moody? Brooding? La Roux’s ‘Let Me Down Gently’ Video Feels You

Take a pensive stroll through the countryside with Elly Jackson.

Note to the weather: If you’re going to be all muggy and gray and disgusting all day, can you at least make it cute? See La Roux’s “Let Me Down Gently” video for reference. Thanks.

Actually, “cute” might not be the right word for the Oliver Hadlee Pearch-directed clip, which sees La Roux (aka Elly Jackson) break free from a claustrophobic cell to roll like a fog down the British countryside.

Gorgeous, perhaps? Sweeping? Majestic, even? However you want to describe the synth-pop artist’s new video, it’s miles beyond the mess outside my window.

“Let Me Down Gently” is a teaser track for La Roux’s upcoming second studio album, Trouble In Paradise, which will drop stateside on July 8.

Ready yourself — the Red One cometh.

Bad at filling out bios seeks same.
