On this week’s episode of “16 and Pregnant,” we met Karley, a straight-A high school student who had to put her textbooks aside in order to care for her twins, Amariah and Amayah. She and her rebellious boyfriend of two years, Tony, decided to get married before the babies were born, but unfortunately, there was no honeymoon period, as Karley and Tony found themselves continuously fighting over finances, new responsibilities and their less-than-ideal living situation. (Because the young family couldn’t afford a place of their own, they moved in with Karley’s parents, much to the dissatisfaction of Tony.)
In this bonus scene, Karley and Tony talk about what it was like when they first started living with her folks. Apparently, Tony was given an ultimatum to either stay with Karley and her parents or leave the relationship.
“You said, ‘Hey, if you don’t move with me, then it’s done,’ so of course I have every right to be pissed about it,” the father-to-be says, getting upset. “If I wanted to stay [with my grandmother], that was the end.”
Karley explains that the reason she wanted him close was so they could spend more time together and he could stay out of trouble, yet Tony responds with an expletive-laced rant about how Karley’s not going to stop him from doing what he wants.
“I’m not trying to be rude to you, K,” Tony finally offers, calming down. “I’m just saying, when we fight, I always just say to myself, ‘Okay, this is it, I’m tired of this and I want to walk away,’ but I know that’s not the right thing to do, so I have to be the one that has to say sorry. But it’s not gonna happen for too much longer.”
