Hugh Jackman has become almost inseparable from Wolverine, who he's played in no less than seven movies (including the upcoming "X-Men: Days of Future Past").
It's no wonder, then, that one of the most iconic heroes in the history of superhero movies wants to join the most iconic superhero team.
"I would love to see him as part of The Avengers," Jackman told IGN about Wolverine possibly teaming up with Iron Man and Thor. "There's a great dysfunction among that team, and I think Wolverine would fit right into that. He'd like that."
Yeah, we'd like it too. A lot. Wolverine's time with The Avengers in the comics has been a blast to read, and there are a bunch of great storylines to draw on to make it happen on the big screen. So it's not like Jackman could say anything to get us more excited about the prospect of a Wolverine crossover with The Avengers. Right?
"There's no doubt he'd get in a fight with Hulk at some point," Jackman added. "Those two bad, rage-filled characters are going to square off at some point. It would be quite fun."
Quite fun? No, no, the most amazing, incredible, seizure-inducing fun of all time, that's more like it. Can this happen? Why isn't this happening?
Oh right, copyright and a bunch of legal stuff. Well, based on this new development, Marvel/Disney and 20th Century Fox need to put aside their differences/international copyright law, and find some way of creating what would probably be the most epic movie we've ever seen.
Well, unless Spider-Man came swinging by during the Hulk-Wolverine fight. Then we'd probably just go blind... from the epicness.
"X-Men: Days of Future Past" opens May 23.
