'Guardians Of The Galaxy' Trailer: What We Want To See

Let the Groot times roll.

Marvel's trip to the stars is still several months away, but a brand-new look at "Guardians of the Galaxy" is right around the corner.

Later today, Marvel will unveil a new trailer for their upcoming space epic, featuring better looks at Chris Pratt's Star-Lord and the rest of his rag-tag band of space-dwelling defenders. But what exactly will we see? And, almost as importantly, what do we want to see?

The new "Guardians of the Galaxy" trailer is here! Watch it now.

With only a little while remaining between now and the trailer's release, here's our wish list of what we want from the new "Guardians" trailer.

More Story

The first "Guardians" trailer established the tone, and the way-outside-the-box universe the film inhabits. Now, it's time for a little more of the movie's heart. A look at Peter Quill's past as an Earthling, a bit more on Drax and Gamora's connections to Thanos — anything that tells us what to expect from the story of "Guardians of the Galaxy."

More Rocket and Groot

Now that Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel are lined up as the gun-toting raccoon and talking tree respectively, it's time to see more of what they have in store for the characters. A well-deployed "I Am Groot!" wouldn't hurt, but some insight into Rocket and Groot as characters is even more important.

More Nova

We've seen bits and pieces of the Nova Corps in past glimpses at "Guardians" footage, but we want more. Specifically, a look at Glenn Close as commander of the Nova forces — we still need to see it to believe that someone of Close's caliber is in a movie as thoroughly weird and out-there as this one.

More Benicio

The post-credits sequence at the end of "Thor: The Dark World" pacified our Collector curiosity for a time, but that time's over. We need more of Benicio Del Toro's "outer-space Liberace" right about now.

More Thanos

But honestly, we kind of don't want to see him; perhaps less is more when it comes to the Mad Titan, at least right now. Then again, it would be hard to complain if we got a little bit more than that "Avengers" grin in today's trailer.

"Guardians of the Galaxy" hits theaters on August 1.
