The-Dream Hit With Assault Charges After Domestic Abuse Allegations

The Love Hate producer turns himself in to police for questioning.

The-Dream turned himself in to New York City police on Wednesday (May 7), and has since been charged with two felonies for an alleged assault on Lydia Nam, the mother of one of his children.

The alleged attack reportedly took place in April 2013, though Nam didn't file a police report until November, according to TMZ. Last week, the site reported that the hit producer was wanted by police for questioning, and today he was booked on assault and strangulation charges. Dream was also hit with three misdemeanors: assault, reckless endangerment, and child endangerment.

Nam is saying that Dream punched, kicked and strangled her during an incident that took place while she was still pregnant with their child. According to TMZ, sources connected to Dream say that the charges are "bogus."
