We Went Roller-Skating With Troy Ave For His 'Your Style' Video Shoot

Troy Ave laces up his skates!

NEWARK, New JerseyTroy Ave's street ties are no secret, but that doesn't mean the newly crowned XXL Magazine freshman doesn't know how to have a good time.

Last Thursday, the B.S.B. Records founder invited MTV News out to the Branch Brook Park Skating Rink in Newark, New Jersey, to look on as he filmed the video for his latest single "Your Style."

"Since the record is a feel-good record, I wanted to go with like a 'Roll Bounce,' 'ATL' type of feel," Ave told us, referencing Bow Wow's and T.I.'s respective skating-themed films. "It's basically roller-skating; those are the only things I could equate to that, but I wanted to do a roller-skating rink, everybody having a good time."

During the daytime shoot, Troy, along with BSB rappers King Sevin, Young Lito and Avon Blocksdale, raced around in circles while gripping bottles of champagne.

"Your Style" originally appeared on Ave's White Christmas 2 mixtape and features Lloyd Banks, who wasn't present at Thursday's shoot. There's a second version of the song, without Banks that was released on B.S.B. Vol.4, Troy's new group mixtape.

Regardless of which version you enjoy, "Your Style" is quickly becoming Troy's signature song. "We just wanted make a joint that could bring the city back and get everybody dancing for the summer," the song's producer, Chase N. Cashe said. "I think the skating rink is perfect because it's a good way to associate it with fun and getting everybody together, getting outside yourself, getting outside of just watching 'Love & Hip Hop,' looking for the latest, just bad, negative stuff out here."
