Frank Ocean Will Surface From The Studio To Perform At Met Gala

The Channel Orange singer will follow Kanye's much-talked-about performance last year.

Frank Ocean has kept a pretty low profile recently — save for brief album updates, and telling Chipotle to f–k off — but the Channel Orange singer will surface for air when he performs at the Met Gala next week. Ocean was in attendance at last year’s event with Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci, where Kanye West performed and got all sappy about Kim Kardashian onstage.

If we’re lucky, Ocean might perform some new material from his upcoming album, which has no title or release date as yet. In a February 2013 interview with BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe, Ocean said he’s “like 10,11 songs into this next thing. It’s another cohesive thing bordering on a concept record again.”

At the very least, it’s probably safe to say that his performance will be drastically different from Kanye’s screamfest last year.
