‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Posters: Three Fingers, One Weapon

The character art for the upcoming reboot focus on the turtles' arms.

A couple weeks ago, the first trailer for “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” introduced the world to the latest (nosed) iterations of the classic cartoon and comic book characters. And now a collection of character posters continues to set the tone.

Each one-sheet highlights a single of the martial arts-trained reptiles and their weapon of choice.

Hardcore fans of the retro cartoons and comic books won’t find anything to take issue with in the posters. The promo art almost goes out of its way to say “Hey, don’t worry. They still have three fingers.”

Yes, Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael all have their appropriate number of digits and correctly corresponding weapons.

Jonathan Liebesan (“Wrath of the Titans”) directs this new take on the iconic 80′s heroes, and there are some big changes this time around. The first preview showed off a darker world and a backstory that made April O’Neil’s father partially responsible for the turtles’ origin.

“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” opens in theaters on August 8.

Writer/editor for MTV. If it involves cowboys, spies, or hitmen, I'm there. All three would be ideal.
