Fans haven't heard much new music from Lil Boosie since he was released from prison last month, but now we've at least got some info on what he's been working on. Big K.R.I.T. recently revealed that he and Boosie got in the lab together.
"It was amazing, man," K.R.I.T. told NahRight. "It's crazy, because his brother promoted a show for me before Boosie got out, and he was like, 'Man, Boosie really want to work with you.' And I'm like, 'Word?' I'm kind of shocked, like, 'OK, yeah, put it together if you can.'"
The Mississippi rapper then put the possibility in the back of his mind, but didn't worry too much about whether or not it would actually go down. "And then I was in New York, right before South By Southwest, shooting a video, and he called me," Krizzle recalled. "He was just like, 'Man, I want to come through, make some beats and vibe.' And I was like, 'Hell yeah, I'm there.'"
Once they did get in the studio together, the two hit it off. "I knocked out some songs with the OG, and it was amazing because he crazy with it," K.R.I.T. said. "He's insane voice-wise, and he got mad content, and his work ethic is already crazy. So we was just down there, I play a record, and he was like, 'Oh, I got that, let's go!' And then, the same thing for the next one."
The Def Jam signee, who's currently working on his sophomore album, Cadillactica, wouldn't reveal where or when listeners should expect the new music, but suggest it'll be worth the wait. "I'm excited for people to hear the music," he said. "I'm blessed to be able to work with him, and just be able to give him a little of Big K.R.I.T. now and having him rap over it, it's going to be exciting for people."
