Channing Tatum To Receive MTV Trailblazer Award

Mila Kunis will present Tatum with the award at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, April 13.

Not only is Channing Tatum sexy, he’s also something of an innovator.

That’s why the “Magic Mike” actor will receive the third annual MTV Trailblazer Award, presented by Mila Kunis, during the 2014 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, April 13 at 9 p.m. ET/PT from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, California.

Tatum is the first male to ever receive the award for boldly paving the way with his unique and diverse path in the film industry. Previous winners include Emma Watson and Emma Stone.

“Channing Tatum is the quintessential leading man for the MTV audience,” said Stephen Friedman, President of MTV. “He proves that an action hero can have both a quick wit and a large heart.”

Later this year, Tatum will reprise his role as Jenko in “22 Jump Street” and share the screen with Mila Kunis in the upcoming Sci-Fi thriller “Jupiter Ascending.” He will also star in
“Foxcatcher” with Steve Carell and Mark Ruffalo, as well as the animated film “The Book of Life.” He will soon begin production on the sequel to “Magic Mike.”

Hosted by comedian and late night host Conan O’Brien, the MTV Movie Awards will once again officially kick off the summer blockbuster season, promising to deliver yet another epically funny, explosive, over-the-top show that features fan favorite films, actors and musicians.

Mila Kunis joins previously announced presenters Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann and Kate Upton. Academy Award-nominated actor and producer Mark Wahlberg will be honored with the MTV Generation Award, and fittingly be presented the award by “Entourage” cast members Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Jerry Ferrara and Kevin Dillon.
