New 'Amazing Spider-Man 2' Photos Are, Well, Amazing: See For Yourself

Marvel releases new action shots in EW cover story.

The masterminds at Marvel really know how to keep a rabid fan base spellbound with anticipation, especially for "The Amazing Spider-Man 2".

Just one day after revealing epic baddie The Green Goblin's terrifying new look, the studio releases a treasure trove of movie stills and never-before-seen images of Peter Parker, Electro, The Rhino and Gobby in action via Entertainment Weekly.

Anchored by an image of Emma Stone's Gwen Stacy in the arms of Andrew Garfield's Spidey on the cover, the magazine spread includes vivid pictures from the film, including an action shot of The Rhino in full destruction mode on a New York City street. In the still, Giamatti can be seen in all of his evil splendor sandwiched by two overturned NYC taxis set ablaze.

In another shot, Dane DeHaan's Goblin is in full armor, soaring through the air at night down a New York street on his glider, with a wicked grin on his mug as he gets ready to swoop in to nab an alarmed Gwen Stacy. Spider-Man is shown in hot pursuit, though, to save his dearly beloved.

A hoodie-wearing Electro is channeling a sizeable amount of electricity in another photo, as smoke plumes behind him in front of a fire truck. No doubt he's set the whole city block on fire while trying to "catch a spider."

The final picture in the quartet features Gwen Stacy dangling from her boyfriend's webbing in what appears to be an expansive elevator shaft. Stacy showed her moxy in the first film helping Petey battle The Lizard, so she's definitely not your usual damsel in distress in this shot.

Judging by the series of images that have been seen thus far, there's no doubt that movie-goers are happily trapped in anticipation of the action-packed blockbuster.

You can check out the rest of the photos at EW. "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" swings into theaters on May 2.
