Fourth Person Dies After SXSW Crash

Two weeks after tragic incident, 18-year-old DeAndre Tatum died on Thursday.

A fourth person has died in the aftermath of the tragic crash at SXSW in which a man drove his car into a crowd outside a show at the Austin, Texas, festival.

18-year-old DeAndre Tatum, of Fort Worth, Texas, died on Thursday (March 27), two weeks after the incident that left 23 injured and two dead at the scene, The Austin American Statesman is reporting. He was a recent graduate of Trimble Technical High School.

Austin resident Jamie West, 27, and 35-year-old Netherlands native Steven Craenmehr were found dead at the scene on March 13. Sandy Thuy, a 26-year-old Austin resident, died four days later.

Rashad Charjuan Owens, 22, was taken into custody shortly after the incident. He faces capital murder charges and aggravated assault charges and his bail is reportedly set at $3 million. Owens was reportedly trying to evade police during a high-speed chase when he crashed into the crowd
