Kanye Is Producing Tyga’s Album And Lil Wayne Feels Some Type Of Way

Apparently no one told Weezy that 'Ye would be working on Tyga's Gold album.

How come no one ever tells Lil Wayne what’s going on? Tyga recently confirmed that Kanye West will be producing his upcoming LP, The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty, but apparently no one passed that memo along to Weezy.

When MTV News caught up with Tyga in Los Angeles this week on the set of Young Money’s “Senile” video shoot, he explained how he got lucky enough to land those sessions with ‘Ye.

“I met Kanye like six years ago and it’s always been cool,” he said. “Every time we chopped it up or been around each other it’s always been cool vibin’, and he was just like, ‘yo, man I’ll produce your joint. I’ll produce your joint if you want me to,’ and I was just like hell yeah man, that’s a blessing.”

A blessing indeed. So you can’t blame Wayne, who’s gearing up to drop Tha Carter V for feeling some type of way, when we broke the news to him that Kanye would be working with Tyga.

“F–k him! Because he didn’t tell me he was doing that,” Wayne said, bursting into laughter. “Why he ain’t come executive produce my album, man f–k that n—a!”

As you can tell from the laughter, he was clearly joking. “Nah man, that’s the homie, so you already know what that’s gonna do. Anything ‘Ye touches is gold, [and it's the] Gold album [but] let’s hope we do more than gold though.”

Last year Kanye’s team at DONDA designed the cover art for Wayne’s album I Am Not A Human Being II, so it’s all in the family.

There’s no release date for The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty, as yet, but you can catch the entire YMCMB family on the new album Young Money: Rise of an Empire, which was released on March 11.
