Jared Leto’s Next Role: Touring With Linkin Park And AFI

Thirty Seconds To Mars will join LP and AFI on the Carnivores Tour.

Less than 48 hours after he won an Oscar , Jared Leto has already found his follow-up role: a massive tour with Linkin Park and AFI.

Yes, in what is assuredly a first for an actor fresh off an Academy Award win, Leto will return to the road with his band, Thirty Seconds To Mars, along with LP and AFI on a North American trek they’ve dubbed the Carnivores Tour.

The tour was announced in a press conference on Tuesday (March 4) and is set to kick off on August 8 in West Palm Beach, Florida. It will crisscross the continent before coming to a close on September 19 in Concord, California.

Tickets for the Carnivores Tour — which, according to Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda, was so named because it “conveys an appetite for something visceral and substantitive” — will go on sale to the general public beginning Friday, March 7 at LiveNation.com and the bands’ websites.

Members of Linkin Park’s and Thirty Seconds to Mars’ fan clubs can take part in exclusive pre-sales beginning Tuesday at 3 p.m. PT and 5 p.m. PT respectively. For more information, check out LPUnderground.com and ThirtySecondsToMars.com.

MTV News will have more from Linkin Park and Thirty Seconds To Mars about the tour later today.
