Now that he's starting over, 50 Cent can do whatever he damn well pleases. So, he's doing what any veteran rapper would do: he's headed down to the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas.
Since breaking ties with longtime label Interscope Records last month and taking his G-Unit imprint over to Caroline, an independent arm of Capitol Records, everyone has wondered what 50 would do next.
First, he dropped the "Funeral" single from June's Animal Ambition album, and now, he's going to join the weird, bearded hordes of Austin next weekend for a preview of some of that new music.
According to Billboard, Fif will headline a SXSW show on March 11 that will be streamed live using the Hang w/ mobile app in which he is an investor.
The social app, which is already being used by such celebs as Chief Keef, Kaskade, Lucy Hale, Dillon Francis and Souljaboy, allows fans to, yes, hang out with their favorite acts using live-stream technology to take them behind-the-scenes of the stars' lives.
"I'm excited to be able to bring my fans behind the scenes and give the opportunity to those who couldn't make it a chance to experience a concert at South By Southwest," Fif told Billboard.
The show will take place on the last night of the interactive portion of SXSW and just before the kick-off of the music portion.
