Robin Thicke is not giving up yet. Even though the "Blurred Lines" singer and wife Paula Patton announced their separation this week after nine years of marriage, during his delayed tour kick-off on Thursday night in Fairfax, Virginia, he told the crowd he wants her back.
According to TMZ, during his show at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, he told the crowd, "For ya'll that don't know, me and my wife separated, but I'm trying to get my girl back. She's a good woman."
That's almost exactly what he told a TMZ cameraman earlier in the day in the Washington, D.C., airport on his way to the show, when he said, "I'm just trying to get her back."
Thicke, 36, who was reportedly still wearing his wedding ring, also noted that he'd written the song "Lost Without U" for Patton before launching into the tune at the show. On Wednesday, US Magazine reported that Patton, 38, was spotted at Los Angeles International Airport without her wedding ring.
This was the first gig on Thicke's long-awaited headlining tour. He called off last week's Atlanta opener, and a follow up in Orlando on Saturday citing vocal issues, then pulled out of a third gig on Tuesday night in North Carolina due to "unforeseen circumstances."
In a statement released earlier this week, Thicke told fans, "I want to thank everyone for the well wishes these last few days. My fans mean everything to me. I'm looking forward to getting back on out on the road and performing in Washington DC this Thursday, and the rest of the tour. Looking forward to seeing everyone out there!"
