Need To Know: Justin Bieber's 'Baby' Breaks A Billion

Tuesday's top stories include Robin Thicke and Paula Patton separating and new music from Shakira and Ellie Goulding.

Justin Bieber is kicking off his birthday week with a billion reasons to celebrate, while Robin Thicke cancels his third show in a row after announcing his split with Paula Patton. Those, plus new music from Shakira and Ellie Goudling, are Tuesday's top stories.

Bieber's 'Baby' Breaks A Billion

Justin's biggest hit from his debut full-length My World 2.0 broke records on Monday when it became the first video on Vevo to be streamed a billion times. Yeah. You read that right. One. Billion. Views. "Baby" shows a baby-faced Biebs bowling with some pre-teen girls before Ludacris spits a surprisingly sweet verse about young love. One billion views sounds like a pretty great way for Bieber to kick off his birthday week. The singer turns 20 on March 1.

Robin Thicke and Paula Patton Split

After nine years of marriage, the "Blurred Lines" singer and "About Last Night" actress have called it quits. The pair met when Thicke was only 14 years old and have remained close ever since. We hope that continues to be the case. Thicke and Patton have a three-year-old son, Julian Fuego. The news helps explain Thicke's absence on his just-started tour. The singer cancelled his third show in a row on Monday night.

New Music Monday Featuring Shakira, Ellie & HAIM

Monday was a great day for new music. Shakira celebrated her return to "The Voice" with the release of new single, "Empire." Ellie Goulding dropped her song off the "Divergent" soundtrack, "Beating Heart," and the sisters of HAIM showed off '80s inspired dance moves in their new video for "If I Could Change Your Mind."
