Seth Meyers Says Goodbye To SNL With ‘Emotional’ Weekend Update Gift

Comic artist depicts iconic sketch characters.

It’s never easy to say goodbye to a friend, but Saturday Night Live (and Weekend Update) sent Seth Meyers off in style this weekend. On screen, Meyers was reunited with Stefon (Bill Hader), Amy Poehler, and Andy Samberg. But off-screen, he got this:

The image, commissioned from “Locke & Key” artist Gabriel Rodriguez, depicts Meyers with all of his favorite Weekend Update characters from the past decade. It was given to Meyers on Saturday, from the Weekend Update staff; an event one staffer called, “emotional.”

Meyers is a huge fan of Rodriguez, and of “Locke & Key,” so the art was particularly poignant.

Meyers will next show up on “Late Night With Seth Meyers” later this month, but we’ll always have this piece of art to celebrate his time on SNL.
