Nicki Minaj Plotting 2014 Takeover With New Album And Mixtape?

The Young Money rapper hints that she might release two major projects this year.

The current game plan for some megastars is "show, don't tell," with full albums dropping out of the clear blue sky these days, but Nicki Minaj is giving us some hints that she might be getting ready to sweep 2014.

Young Money's first lady already landed on MTV News' list of the most anticipated hip-hop albums of 2014, after confirming back in November that she was already at work on her new LP. Seems like that's only part of the equation though.

In addition to teasing new music on Instagram, she's been dropping remixes and guest verses here, there and everywhere, and the latest one came with some big news.

In December she laced PTAF's "Boss Ass Bitch" with a remix, and earlier this week she joined YG on the set of his video for "My N---- (remix)," after spitting a verse on the track. Even more recently, she hopped on the remix of Young Thug's hit "Danny Glover."

Right off the bat she hits us with the line, "It's like, I'm working on the album and a mixtape at the same mothef---ing time." Should we take that literally, then?

We already know that she'll appear on the upcoming crew album Young Money: Rise Of Empire in March, so let's tally up. If Nicki was being serious, then she'll drop a mixtape, appear on the YMCMB album and then drop her studio project. Not to mention that she'll probably sprinkle a few more guest verses in between that.

Although rap fans criticized the Queens rapper for leaning too far into the realm of pop music over the past couple of years, her latest bars indicate that she's ready to show up and show off those rhymes in 2014. Nicki might really be coming for that King of New York title.

Oh, and Justin Timberlake, Ms. Minaj wants you to know that she's got her eyes on Jessica Biel. Listen to the "Danny Glover (remix)" above.
