Rihanna might be a decade into her career, but the 25-year-old still gets floored when she wins a Grammy.
On Sunday night, the "Pour It Up" singer nabbed the Grammy for Best Urban Contemporary Album for her 2012 release, Unapologetic.
"I was so shocked. Really!" she said on "Good Morning America" on Wednesday (January 29). "I was at home and one of my friends hit me and said 'You just won a Grammy. ' And I was like 'What?' I went on the Internet, I just saw Unapologetic [won], it was quite an emotional moment, surprisingly. But I was in shock. I'm excited. It was a good feeling to still be that excited at this point in my career."
Of course, when she's not winning shiny trophies, Rihanna is using her celebrity for charitable causes. She's teamed up with the MAC Viva Glam Campaign to help raise money for the MAC AIDS Fund through the sale of a custom-designed lipstick and lipglass.
"It's an iconic campaign," she said of her role as a philanthropic partner. "HIV and AIDS, it's been around for as long as I've been alive and now more than half of the new infections are people 24 years old and under. So it's really scary, it's around."
However, she notes the campaign isn't about preaching to people to not have "fun," instead it focuses on being safe while living your life, an ideology she can fully embrace.
"Well, the thing about MAC, as a brand that I really love and embrace: they don't judge," she said. "They're not here to say, 'Be perfect.' They want you to have fun, as well as myself, I want you to have fun, but you have to be responsible. You have to be safe, protect yourself. You have to look out for yourself 'cause nobody else can do that for you."
Rihanna is reportedly working on a new album and just teamed up with Shakira for their duet, "Can't Remember to Forget You," but she played it coy when asked when fans can expect to hear on her next album.
"Music is what I love to do, so you will, you will never have to worry about me not doing that. I love making it," she said, but didn't specify when fans would hear something. The video for "Can't Remember to Forget You" will drop today.
