Rita Ora is going big time.
The U.K. singer already made an impression across the globe with her Roc Nation debut, Ora, but it's her role in "Fifty Shades of Grey" that is turning heads on this side of the Atlantic. After her blink-or-you'll-miss-it appearance in "Fast & Furious 6" (Ora played a racer), she was cast as Christian Grey's adopted sister Mia in Sam Taylor-Johnson's highly anticipated erotic pic.
"Oh, I was nervous because it was the first time I ever did a movie with words," Ora told reporters at the annual Roc Nation pre-Grammy brunch on Saturday (January 25). "But it was so nice. The director Sam, she was incredible, so it was all love."
Ora confessed that the "Fifty Shades" release is "gonna be the biggest and most amazing shock ever," but she's "so excited" for it. After an early casting shakeup temporarily left the film without a leading man, "Fifty Shades" was pushed to a Valentine's Day 2015 release.
In the meantime, Ora will hit U.S. airwaves with her sophomore album. The 23-year-old kept mum on what sort of "awesome" sounds we can expect this time around, but confirms that the record is in the can.
"It comes out in a few months," she said. "It's been about a year and a half of kind of doing it undercover, but I can officially say it's done. The album's gonna be great."
Amid speculation surrounding the state of Ora's relationship with her DJ beau Calvin Harris, the duo arrived on each other's arms for the Saturday celebration. The 6'5" EDM superstar is up for two Grammy Awards on Sunday: Best Dance Recording for "Sweet Nothing" featuring Florence Welch and Best Dance/Electronica Album for "18 Months."
