Soulja Boy Arrested For Gun Possession
Soulja Boy has surely seen better days. On Wednesday (January 22), the 23-year-old rapper was arrested in Los Angeles after police found him with a loaded gun.
A representative from the LAPD confirmed with MTV News that the rap star (born DeAndre Cortez Way) was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over after running a stop sign in San Fernando Valley at 4 a.m. on Wednesday. They confirm he was arrested for possession of a concealed weapon. The police would not confirm if the weapon in question was a loaded gun, as reported by TMZ.
SB first rose to fame after his 2007 single "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, but he has since made his bones on hip-hop's online and underground mixtape scene. He was arrested in Georgia in 2011 and charged with [article id="1672721"]gun and drug possession[/article].
In December, Soulja scored a major musical win when Drake jumped on a remix to his "We Made It" from SB's The King mixtape.
As of press time police didn't have any information for MTV News.
