There will never be a consensus among rap fans in the debate about the "greatest lyricist of all time," but this week
During an appearance on "RapFix Live" Wednesday, the Queens native was quizzed about his ultimate dream collaboration, and without hesitation, it was Joel's name that he came up with.
"He's a genius. He's the best lyricist ever," Bam Bam responded, adding that there was no chance he would even think about reaching out for a collaboration.
The closest Action Bronson plans to get is grabbing tickets to see Billy Joel live during his sold-out residency at New York's Madison Square Garden. "I'm gonna go see him at the Garden when he does his residency though," Bronson revealed. "I'm contemplating a sky box [suite]. He's not gonna wanna [meet me] but if he does, then I'm meeting him."
Obviously, Sway needed to know what his favorite Billy Joel songs were, and that made way for a little karaoke. Though he was a little hesitant at first, explaining that, "It's too crazy, I get too emotional when I sing to Billy," Bronson still broke into song. The 30-year-old gave viewers a quick rendition of his favorite pick, "For the Longest Time," noting that he didn't need any instruments, by doing it "doo-wop style."
"I know every friggin' song, man. I [just] haven't figured out which tone to sing in because I was never taught. I might be a baritone," the rapper reflected. "I could be Pavarotti one day." Watch Action Bronson get his Luciano Pavarotti on, in the clip above.
Bronson is currently on the road for his Blue Chips 2 Tour, and he's also getting ready to perform a few shows with Eminem.
