The three-time Grammy winner (who has seven nominations at the upcoming Grammy awards), will be in fine company in the Original Song category at the Academy Awards, as his fellow nominees include U2, who look to add to their recent Golden Globes glory for “Ordinary Love,” from the Nelson Mandela biopic “Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom.”
Also earning a first bid is Yeah Yeah Yeahs singer Karen O, who joined the club with “The Moon Song” from director Spike Jonze’s “Her.” The other nominees are “Alone Yet Not Alone” form the movie of the same name and “Let it Go” from animated smash “Frozen.”
