Ciara Won't Reveal Baby Gender, But Future 'Got What He Wanted'

The 'mommy-to-be' opens up about her pregnancy, which she announced on Tuesday.

The world may now know that Ciara and Future are expecting a bundle of joy, but there is one thing they won't be finding out: the baby's gender.

While sitting down with "HuffPost Live" Ciara, who revealed her pregnancy on "The View," played coy when asked if she's having a boy or a girl, but did say, "my fiancé got what he wanted."

"It really is a blessing. It's the most exciting time in my life. I'm really excited, like a little kid. Like when a kid is getting ready for Christmas like I can't wait to see what's underneath that tree," Ciara said before adding that the sex of her firstborn did come as a bit of a surprise. "I did have a preference before I found out what it was ... [the result] was different than what I thought."

The "Body Party" singer has had fans guessing over the past few months about whether she was expecting, since she's been covering up her toned tummy with bigger clothing, a style that she has grown accustomed to rocking during her pregnancy.

"I kind of want to take the theme that 'baggy is the new sexy.' I don't know, I just want to be comfortable. When I can't wear heels anymore, I won't wear heels. I'll be putting on my Jordans. My Jordans and my Uggs will be my best friends," Ciara said. "I believe that pregnancy within itself is sexy...I kind of like it actually not being about abs and all that stuff. I really love this phase that I'm going through in my life and I just want to live in it. I just want to be a 'mommy-to-be.'

This mommy-to-be, who got engaged in October, isn't planning on taking much time off once the baby arrives. In fact, she's already working on her sixth album, the follow-up to her 2013 self-titled effort, and she's performing at the upcoming Grammy Awards official after-party.

"Actually, I've been recording my album and I actually started around Thanksgiving of last year," Ciara explained. "And I'm in the most comfortable creative space I can possibly be in and I will actually be giving me fans something really soon."
