‘Single Ladies’ Season Three: These Rookies Are Shaking Things Up

Newbies join LisaRaye McCoy-Misick, Denise Vasi and Charity Shea to dish up drama on the VH1 show.

HOLLYWOOD“Single Ladies” came back for a third season last Monday with more delicious drama and a few fresh faces to shake things up.

Yes, Denise Vasi, LisaRaye McCoy-Misick and Charity Shea are back for more hookups and breakups on the VH1 drama, but when MTV News caught up with the cast in Hollywood earlier this month, there were a few new scene-stealers on the rise. Enter: Lesley-Ann Brandt, Damien Dante Wayans and, returning this season with an expanded role, Harold House Moore.

Fans should keep their eyes on this trio. As Naomi Cox, Brandt “injects like a nuclear bomb” into one relationship on the show.

“I’m a bit of a bad girl, but I have my reasons,” Brandt teased.

Sounds a little bit like Moore’s Terrence Franks, who will be seeing a bit more action this year. “I was always a part of the VH1 ‘Single Ladies’ family, but I was on the outside of the house,” he told us. “So they finally let House on the inside of the house.”

As if we’d expect anything less from a Wayans, Damien (the nephew of the famed Wayans Brothers, including Keenan and Damon) brings humor — and lots of it — to the screen.

“I’m not the most handsome guy,” Wayans joked. “Let me just be honest, MTV. So the fact that they allowed me to spread some humor, cheer on the set — thank you, VH1.”

The “Single Ladies” vets were thrilled to welcome the rookies onto their Atlanta set, and even happier to take a backseat on some of the scenes.

“It’s a fresh energy. We’ve done this for three years now, it’s nice to have new people in and have a different energy to the room,” Vasi explained. “And they can take some of the workload.”

Her co-stars enthusiastically concurred. “I was about to say that!” McCoy-Misik added with a laugh. “Give them some of the scenes.”

Also joining the cast this season is Destiny’s Child alum Letoya Luckett, who plays music executive Felicia Price, April’s new boss.

“Single Ladies” airs on Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on VH1.
