Kerry Washington has made it official. The "Scandal" actress finally confirmed her pregnancy on Sunday (January 12) when she hit the carpet at the Golden Globes. She was rumored to be expecting her first child back in October before she hosted "Saturday Night Live."
Sporting a Balenciaga gown that put her baby bump on full display, she opened up about expecting her first child to NBC. "I feel he designed it more for this bump, which I'm really happy with," she said with a big laugh, about her couture gown especially designed to show off her figure.
Despite being rumored to be pregnant last fall, Washington had yet to confirm the news of her baby. She married San Francisco 49ers cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha in a top-secret ceremony back in June in Hailey, Idaho. Of her new marriage, Golden Globes nomination and soon-to-be mommy status, she added, "I feel like, I just feel very blessed. Life is truly extraordinary right now."
"We owe everything to our fans," she continued. "Our gladiators on Twitter and on Facebook and they really have made us [at 'Scandal'] what we are. So we are so grateful."
Before chatting with NBC, she also chatted with E! News about bringing her baby to the big show. "I feel like I have the best date of the night, my little accessory here," she said, according to the Huffington Post, rubbing her belly.
The "Scandal" star is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series -- Drama against "House of Cards" actress Robin Wright, "The Good Wife" star Julianna Margulies, "Orphan Black" star Tatiana Maslany and "Orange Is the New Black" actress Taylor Schilling.
