With the Golden Globes days away and the Grammys in just a few short weeks, it’s safe to say awards season is officially under way. But it’s not just the city of angels that’s rolling out the red carpets and picking out its best gowns, those across the pond are casting their ballots for the best musicians of the past year.
Nominees for the 2014 Brit Awards were announced on Thursday (January 9), and while it is, naturally, two British acts, Disclosure and Bastille leading the pack with four nominations apiece, there’s also a host of American acts up for international awards at the show.
Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Pink, Arcade Fire, Haim, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Drake and Justin Timberlake, are just some of the U.S. artists up for awards.
Directioners will be happy to learn that despite not getting any Grammy love, One Direction are nominated for British Single and British Group.
The Brit Awards 2014 take place at London’s O2 Arena on February 19.
